Investigation into India’s first monkeypox case continues; Health Ministry says no need to panic

The health ministry said, “The case is being managed as per protocol, and contact tracing is ongoing to identify possible sources and assess the impact within the country.

The development of this case is in line with the risk assessment carried out by the National Centre for Disease Control, and there is no cause for any unnecessary concern.

The ministry said the country is fully prepared to deal with such isolated travel-related cases and strong measures have been taken to minimise any potential risk.
