Telecom companies get a setback from the Supreme Court, petition for re-calculation of AGR rejected

In the AGR case, Vodafone Idea, Bharti Airtel and other telecom companies have received a major setback from the Supreme Court. The Supreme Court has rejected the curative petition, which demanded recalculation of AGR (Adjusted Gross Revenues).

Vodafone Idea, Bharti Airtel and several other telecom companies had filed a curative petition against the 2019 Supreme Court decision in the case. The telecom operators had alleged that serious mistakes were made by the Department of Telecommunications in calculating AGR dues and the Supreme Court had imposed arbitrary fines on them.
